The interior of this fleece is knit into a 210gsm grid that handles the constant temperature shifts of a day in the mountain. The open channels between the grid squares trap warm air when you stall on a cold ridge, but allow your body heat to vent the moment you start pushing up a steep track. We cut it with an athletic fit so it lays flat against your body, avoiding that annoying bunching and pulling that happens when you layer loose clothing under a shell.

Skipping the hood keeps your neck free of bulk, which is exactly what you want when you need to zip your outer jacket all the way up to your chin. The fabric blends 93% recycled polyester with a bit of elastane for easy stretch, held together by flat overlocked seams that won't bite into your shoulders under the weight of a heavy backpack. It is a practical, recycled mid-layer that keeps your temperature steady without getting in the way.
